OOPS

FRIDAY 3/2

DIdn't have it today. First time I crash and burn a workout in a long time. Warmed up for cleans, but just didn't have any drive. Weird pain in my right leg (almost feels like quad tendon, gotta be careful...), start position for cleans from the floor didn't feel good. I just felt like crap, so I packed it in.

I can trace this error to pushing too hard on Front squats the last 2 weeks. On wednesday, the fronts were hard, and I felt weird in my right hip and quad. Too much too fast. On the bright side, I've hit an "official" PR for 5 reps in the squat: 375.

In response to this I'll eat and rest for today, then tomorrow I want to start the "Pendlay" 5x5, with my own twists:

1. "reps" for hang cleans will be clustered singles, taken from the floor (deads) if need be.
2. I'm keeping the 4-day arrangement, but flipping some stuff around
3. dropping the medium push press day, doing the rep incline benches first
4. Jury's still out on whether to include front squats yet. I kind of want to, but will have to cram it into the 5x5 template. (probably 8x3 with embarrassingly light weights to start)
5. Dropping GM's in favor of rack RDLs (clean assistance, arching power good for upper back)
